8th grade Surrealist Collages

Grant 8th grade students studied and observed MANY collages created in the surrealist style. We discussed what the word "surreal" means and how these artists used those ideas in their art. Our students created their own original surrealist collages where they focused on depth in space using foreground, middleground, and background! I enjoyed watching these students have fun, be a little silly, and experiment with the space of their collage! It was the perfect post ELA state assessment project! Well done!
